Your wedding invitations are more than just an announcement—they’re the first glimpse your guests have into the celebration ahead!
For couples who want their invitations to feel as unforgettable as their wedding day, investing in luxury paper, foil, and specialty print techniques makes all the difference.
Here’s a closer look at the materials and finishes that elevate wedding stationery from beautiful to breathtaking...
Luxury Paper Stocks
The foundation of every invitation is the paper itself. High-quality papers don’t just look refined—they feel indulgent in your hands.
- Cotton Paper: Soft, textured, and elegant, cotton stock is the gold standard for fine invitations. It holds ink beautifully and exudes timeless sophistication.
- Handmade & Deckled Edge Paper: With subtle imperfections and feathered edges, this artisanal choice feels romantic and one-of-a-kind.
- Double-Thick Cardstock: Twice the weight of standard paper, this option makes a statement of substance and luxury.
Foil stamping instantly adds glamour and shine to your invitations. Available in classic metallics like gold, rose gold, and silver—or modern shades like champagne and pewter—foil catches the light and draws the eye. It’s perfect for:
- Monograms
- Borders and frames
- Invitation headers and names
Foil transforms even the simplest design into something extraordinary.
Letterpress Printing: Timeless Elegance
Nothing compares to the tactile impression of letterpress printing. Using antique presses, ink is pressed deep into the paper, creating an embossed texture you can see and feel. This old-world technique is beloved for its artistry and understated elegance.
Engraving: Classic Luxury
The most traditional of fine print methods, engraving creates raised lettering with crisp detail. It’s often used for formal black-tie weddings, producing an effect that feels regal and refined.
Modern Digital Enhancements
Luxury doesn’t always mean traditional. Today’s technology offers contemporary techniques that bring fresh dimension:
- White Ink Printing on dark papers for dramatic contrast
- Metallic Digital Printing for shine without foil
- UV Spot Printing to highlight specific details with gloss texture
It’s often the finishing elements that take invitations from beautiful to unforgettable:
- Vellum Overlays or Jackets for a soft, romantic reveal
- Laser-Cut Details that add intricate patterns and texture
- Silk Ribbons & Wax Seals for an heirloom feel
- Grommets, Eyelets, or Gilded Edges for unexpected luxury

FINAL THOUGHTS
Your invitations should feel like an extension of your wedding day: personal, meaningful, and undeniably elegant. Choosing luxury papers, foils, and print techniques ensures that your stationery makes a lasting impression—from the moment guests open the envelope.

in THE CITY, in WEDDINGS
April in Indianapolis brought the perfect backdrop for Anju and Harsha’s unforgettable wedding day. Blending cultural traditions with modern downtown charm, their celebration unfolded across two of the city’s most iconic downtown Indianapolis wedding venues: the Indianapolis Artsgarden and the Central Library. With a bold fuchsia and green palette, colorful décor, and a joyful mix of music and dancing, this wedding was as lively as it was elegant.
✨ A Ceremony in the Sky: The Indianapolis Artsgarden
Suspended above the heart of the city, the Artsgarden offered Anju and Harsha a one-of-a-kind setting for their ceremony. Beneath the soaring glass dome, the atmosphere was filled with natural light, surrounding guests in a space that felt both modern and timeless.
The sister duo at Duet Floral transformed the airy atrium with vivid blooms in shades of fuchsia, green, and jewel tones. The arrangements perfectly echoed the couple’s joyful style—lush, vibrant, and designed to make a statement. Against the sleek lines of the Artsgarden’s glass walls, the florals created a romantic garden in the sky.

✨ A Radiant Reception: The Indianapolis Central Library
After the ceremony, guests gathered at the Indianapolis Central Library, one of downtown’s most striking reception venues. Known for its blend of historic architecture and modern glass design, the library provided the perfect canvas for a celebration filled with elegance and energy.
As the sun poured through the atrium’s windows, the space seemed to glow, amplifying the vivid fuchsia and green décor. Colorful linens, ornate accents, and lively floral arrangements set the tone for an evening of celebration. With expert coordination by Boldly Chic Events, the reception flowed seamlessly—allowing Anju and Harsha to savor every toast, every dance, and every joyful moment.
✨ A Celebration of Culture & Style
One of the most memorable parts of the day was the way Anju and Harsha’s wedding beautifully fused cultures through attire, music, and dance. From richly detailed garments to a dance floor filled with energy, the evening was a true reflection of their heritage and personalities. Guests were treated to a celebration that felt vibrant, meaningful, and full of life.

✨ Details That Make It Unforgettable
It’s often the details that bring a wedding vision to life, and Anju and Harsha’s day was no exception. The bold color palette and ornate décor set a tone that could easily be echoed in the wedding stationery—through rich paper textures, playful use of fuchsia and green, or intricate laser-cut designs that mirror cultural patterns.
As a designer at Interprintations - an Indianapolis wedding print shop - I love seeing how the story of a wedding begins with the invitations and carries through the day-of details—programs, menus, signage, and more. Our custom wedding stationery not only guides guests but also becomes a keepsake of the couple’s one-of-a-kind celebration.

Anju and Harsha’s April wedding was a radiant celebration of love, culture, and elegance—set against the stunning backdrops of downtown Indianapolis.
