in THE CITY, in WEDDINGS
There’s something truly timeless about spring weddings at Newfields in Indianapolis—and Sarah and Nicholas’s celebration this past May was no exception. Their day combined refined elegance with vintage-inspired details, creating a wedding that felt both romantic and deeply personal. From the lush outdoor ceremony to the glowing reception pavilion, every moment was filled with beauty.

The Ceremony at the Lily House Terrace
Sarah and Nicholas exchanged vows on the terrace of the historic Lilly House, surrounded by spring gardens in full bloom. The soft ivory and champagne palette created a natural complement to the outdoor setting, while delicate floral arrangements by Satin and Stems framed the scene with grace. The breeze carried just the slightest hint of early summer warmth, setting the stage for a heartfelt ceremony.

A Reception Filled with Charm
Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the Randolph H. Deer Special Events Pavilion for a reception that perfectly balanced romance and celebration. Under rows of glowing garden string lights, the space came alive with tall glass vases, flickering candelabras, and a floral palette of ivories, blush tones, and greenery. Together with the joyful laughter of family and friends, the atmosphere was nothing short of enchanting.

Vintage-Inspired Stationery & Signage
Sarah and Nicholas’s stationery suite set the tone for their wedding day. Their invitations featured soft champagne letterpress printing, a silk ribbon wrap, and a vintage-inspired monogram crest that later made its way onto the dance floor. Guests received a hint of the garden setting to come through a fine art illustration of the Lilly House, paired with vintage floral illustrations and even a nod to Marie Oakley’s painting “Garden in May,” which appeared on envelope liners and table numbers.
Instead of traditional paper programs, the couple welcomed guests with a fabric welcome sign that billowed softly in the breeze, listing the ceremony details and members of the wedding party. At the reception, the seating display featured ornate die-cut escort cards, each delicately tied with raw-edge silk ribbon. The place cards, each with their own unique floral illustration, doubled as a clever way to denote entrée selections for the catering team.
The menus were truly a showpiece: laser-cut peonies with embossed text, offering guests a tactile, unforgettable detail. Additional touches, like a fabric bar sign draped across the bar front with signature cocktails and drink offerings, carried the couple’s vintage theme seamlessly through the evening.
A Celebration to Remember
When the music began, Sarah and Nicholas’s monogrammed dance floor quickly became the heart of the evening. Guests laughed, danced, and toasted under twinkling string lights, making memories that will last a lifetime. It was a joyful celebration that perfectly reflected the couple’s love story—timeless, elegant, and full of heart.

Fall Wedding Color Palettes That Translate Beautifully to Your Invitations
If you’re planning a fall wedding in Indianapolis for 2025 or 2026, you’re likely already dreaming about color palettes. Autumn brings such a rich range of tones — from warm harvest shades to deep jewel hues — that it’s no wonder fall is one of the most popular wedding seasons. But choosing your wedding colors isn’t just about flowers and décor. Your stationery is one of the very first places those colors come to life.
As a custom Indianapolis wedding stationer, I’ve seen firsthand how the right invitation suite sets the tone for the entire celebration. Let’s explore some of the most elegant and timeless fall color palettes — and how they translate beautifully into wedding invitations, menus, and all the paper details that make your event unforgettable.
1. Classic Autumn Neutrals: Ivory, Taupe, and Gold

2. Jewel Tones: Emerald, Sapphire, and Plum
If you’re dreaming of a bold, dramatic wedding, jewel tones are the perfect fall palette. These rich shades feel regal and elevated while still embracing the season.
