From the very beginning, the couple envisioned wedding invitations that felt soft, luxurious, and artistically inspired by the beauty of the venue itself.

 

The result was a layered fine art wedding invitation suite filled with meaningful details, custom artwork, and heirloom-quality materials.

 

The main invitation card was letterpress printed on luxurious Soft Ivory cotton cardstock, creating the beautiful deep impression and tactile texture that letterpress is so loved for.

 

Sarah & Nicholas selected a custom Rosy Beige ink color that paired beautifully with the romantic tone of their wedding aesthetic. At the top of the invitation, a custom dual-initial monogram crest added an elegant focal point to the design. Delicate floral accents intertwined throughout the crest, creating a timeless and refined look without feeling overly formal.

 

 

To further elevate the design, we paired elegant calligraphy for the couple’s names and venue with classic serif typography throughout the remainder of the suite. The combination created a beautiful sense of hierarchy while adding softness and movement to the overall layout.

 

The RSVP card was also letterpress printed on the same Soft Ivory cotton cardstock using the same Rosy Beige ink color. Subtle floral accents mirrored the artwork found within the monogram crest, helping the suite feel cohesive from piece to piece.

 

One of the most meaningful elements within the suite was the details card, which prominently featured a custom illustration of the main art museum building at Newfields.

 

The card itself was flat printed on a lovely matte Beige cardstock and finished with a vintage-inspired die cut border that complemented the romantic aesthetic of the overall suite beautifully.

 

We loved incorporating an architectural illustration into the stationery because it immediately tied the invitations back to the wedding venue itself — something that always helps create a more personal and immersive guest experience.

The envelope liner featured a vintage oil painting reproduction: The Garden in May by Maria Oakey, whose original work is displayed within the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The soft painterly tones and floral imagery added an unexpected artistic detail inside the envelope while beautifully complementing the romantic color palette of the suite.

 

 

The couple loved the vintage painting so much, they also carried it over to their wedding day - incorporating it into custom matchboxes (favors for the guests) and their table numbers.

The stacked invitation cards were wrapped inside a monogrammed vellum folder and secured closed with a custom Soft Beige hand-dyed silk ribbon. These finishing touches added softness, texture, and movement while creating a luxurious unboxing experience for guests.

 

Every layer of the suite was designed to feel thoughtful, cohesive, and elevated — from the paper selection all the way down to the ribbon.
