We stopped by the new house today to take some measurements & drop off a few more light fixtures for installation.

Every time we stop in there (lately it's been almost every other day), there's always something new & exciting in place. ere's what's been going on most recently...

...The carpet is finished in the bedrooms + basement (the last of the flooring)....and our pretty front door handle has been installed (I spy a little boy who is SO excited for more space to run & play)....

...The plumbing is *almost* complete (the kitchen island + basement bar have custom countertops pending)...

....the doors are painted & installed....the perimeter kitchen countertops are in place (this quartz is called "Viatera Minuet", and  photos just don't do it justice!)....

...and our tiny little oasis (a.k.a. the Master Bath) is nearing completion...only the mirrors, vanity lights, and glass shower surround are left on the "to do" list.

...and some of our most anticipated items - our custom reclaimed barnwood items - will be going in over the next week or so. Hoosier Reclaimed Timber is handling those & they do the most amazing work. I can't WAIT to see the finished pieces, once they're in place!

My goodness, is it possible we could be in by Easter?! EEEK! =)

So much has happened since I posted our last house update in December. Honestly, work really started to slow down around the holidays (understandably), but quickly picked back up in January.

We have all of our recessed lighting installed. The mudroom bench & custom fireplace are completed. Doors and trim are painted and installed. The banister around the basement entry (minus the wrought iron spokes) is installed & stained to coordinate with our wood flooring (to be installed later this month).

And the BIG excitement this week - our cabinets are FINALLY here and being installed as we speak! (Three weeks later than originally estimated. It's a sore subject. It was NOT our builder's fault, and I'll leave it at that.)

On my "to do" list this next week:
I still need to select all of my cabinet hardware, buy a handful of these for the hallways & basement,
order a number plate for the front porch (and maybe a "vintage" mailbox),
and drop off our light fixtures + bulbs for installation!

I promise to post more photos next week - by then, we should have some flooring, all kitchen & basement cabinets installed, and maybe even some of our pretty light fixtures hung! Things are really rockin' & rollin' now, and we're on track to be in within 6-8 weeks. The countdown has begun. =)

The outside of our home is finally coming together - the exterior has been painted white, the garage doors have been installed, the cement for the sidewalks and porches was poured this past week, and our pretty "Pewter" shingles are starting to go on the roof.

This upcoming week, the electrician will be back to do rough-ins for the interior electrical & to also install all outdoor lights. The black shutters should be going on soon, as well. We also have a gorgeous color selected for the front door - but I don't think that will be painted until later on. We'll just have to keep you in suspense on that color selection for now. =) Any guesses?

One thing I also love doing when visiting the house is walking through the inside. Even though there isn't much going on inside yet, I still love standing in some of my favorite spots & doing a little daydreaming. Below are two of my favorites - the front foyer and the breakfast nook off the kitchen.

Both spots have the most amazing light streaming into them. From hosting house guests to family meals, these walls will likely see the most life within them. I can't wait to see my visions for each of these come to life. (Think industrial lighting, puddled curtains, and a big farmhouse table!)

Oh, and that door you see off to the right of the breakfast nook? That's a walk-in pantry. Which will have a lovely 5-panel door on it. Oh my, my heart might just burst with happiness once this is all complete!

My days are filled with pretty paper, blissful brides, half-finished sketchbooks, half-eaten lunches, and lots of cuddling with my little ones. I look forward to sharing with you all of life's fun happenings (both in & out of the studio) here on the blog!
