When we were approached by bride-to-be, Kelly, to help her in designing and creating acrylic pieces for her upcoming nuptials, we were over the moon! We absolutely love creating laser cut and engraved acrylic elements for weddings. They are such lovely and elegant pieces, sure to make a statement in any ceremony or reception setting.

Here are some of our favorite photos from their wedding day at the Balmoral House...

Kelly's wedding bouquet had the perfect blend of greenery and rich fall hues, don't you think? The loose leaves give it a casual boho look, which is so on trend at the moment.

It was a beautiful Fall day for outdoor photos, capturing the incredible Indiana Autumn foliage. Those golden and amber hues leaves make for a stunning wedding photo backdrop.

This was our first event at the picturesque Balmoral House in Fishers, Indiana. We just love it when we get to provide wedding stationery and laser cut goods at a new venue! Every wedding venue has it's own unique style and vibe, providing for interesting backdrops and photo ops. Didn't Kaylee Creighton Photography capture Kelly & Zach's day beautifully? (Not only does she offer fine art wedding photography at an affordable price point, she is a peach to work with! Be sure to check her out, brides!)

Julie with Flowers of Geist brought so many lovely floral details to every element of the wedding day. The vintage fire place mantle was adorned with a custom garland to coordinate with the bride's bouquet.

Isn't that such a darling wedding ceremony space? What a perfect ceremony location for Indiana brides hosting a small wedding, but would still like something formal and elegant. Now on to the wedding reception, where the fun laser cut wedding details really come into play!

Looking for a unique way to display your guests' seating assignments? Consider a clear acrylic seating chart! What a "wow factor" this piece adds to the wedding reception entrance. Kelly had a specific vision and precise fonts in mind during the design process - making this piece coordinate perfectly with the wedding day style & perfectly displaying the couple's attention to detail!

We were thrilled with how their cake table turned out, and were honored to play a small part in it. The vintage dresser, the gold cake stands, the laser cut topper & acrylic sign, and the subtle florals and greenery on the cake all came together in perfect harmony.

While we're doting on this wedding at the Balmoral House, can we take a moment to admire their patio - a perfect setting for the end of the wedding reception & the couple's last dance of the night? Those twinkle lights are so romantic!

Have you seen the latest issue of Indianapolis' newest wedding magazine? You can view an online copy of the newest issue of Premier Weddings Magazine here!

If you're looking for fresh local wedding inspiration, vendor features, bridal checklists and more, this new magazine is a must-read for all brides to be in Indiana. My favorite part is the Wedding Timeline Checklist. While some of the big name websites seem to mislead brides into thinking invitations should be mailed out excessively early, this magazine hits the nail on the head by aligning with etiquette - mail the invitations out TWO MONTHS before the big day. =) (Anything before that should be a save the date, not a formal invitation.)

You'll also catch some of our favorite collaborations from the 2018 wedding season, as far as custom wedding invitations and stationery designs. Check out the Laurel Hall event feature with the beautiful lavender tones and off-the-charts florals! You also don't want to miss the Emerald tones of the Smith House event, where you'll spot our popular laser cut wooden name cards nestled in beautiful vintage plates.

Another handy feature of this newest issue is the Wedding Budget section. Here you'll be able to keep track of your projected spending on all wedding elements (like flowers, the dress, and invitations - of course!). It also allows you to jot down the actual spending for each category, to ensure you are staying on track & to see where you're saving/splurging. (A little splurge for extra "pretty" details, are totally ok, as long as they are important to you!)

What do you think of this newest wedding read for Hoosier brides? What were your favorite features?

Note: If you're not local to Indianapolis, don't worry! Premier Weddings Magazine has issues in lots of other cities - including Nashville, San Antonio, Austin, and others!

We are always so honored to be featured in online and print magazines and blogs - Thank you so much to Premier Weddings for including some of our favorite custom wedding designs of 2018!

Best,

You’re engaged and planning a wedding – Congrats! What an exciting season you’re in, as you pull together all of the details and vendors for your big day.

Indianapolis Carmel Wedding Paper Invitations Save the Dates Custom Design

One topic that will come up early on in the planning process is Save the Dates. We’ve put together a breakdown of the most common questions regarding Save the Dates, and the necessary info you’ll need to plan out this important element of your wedding stationery.

  1. Why do I need to send out save the dates?
Save the dates are a great way to get basic wedding information out early to your guests. This is especially important if many of your wedding guests are traveling, or your wedding date falls on or around a holiday.

  2. When should save the dates be mailed to guests?
Plan to mail your save the dates to your guests anywhere from 4 months to 12 months before your wedding date (leaning more towards the latter for destination weddings, or if a large portion of your guests will need to plan for flights or accommodations).

  3. What information should we include on our save the dates?
No worries if you haven’t finalized a large portion of the wedding details. The most basic elements are perfectly fine – your names, the wedding date, and the city where the wedding will be taking place. If you have already started putting together a wedding website, including that can also be beneficial for relaying additional wedding details.

  4. What are your thoughts on sending postcard save the dates?
Sending postcards is definitely an option! They keep things simple by eliminating an envelope and incurring slightly less postage fees. However, we always make sure our clients are fully aware that these will be heavily machined by the USPS. They can be rough on mail, postcards especially, so please do not be surprised if they arrive to guests in less than pristine condition.

  5. We are considering a save the date magnet – do you have any recommendations?
These are so fun and will help ensure guests put your wedding date right onto their fridge! We do recommend a thin, flat magnet to help make the mailing process easier and more cost efficient. Thicker magnets can be marked non-machinable, meaning more postage fees for you (and possible damage during the mailing process).

  6. We have a very limited budget – how do we keep our save the dates budget friendly?
Save the dates are a very informal way of simply asking your guests to not book anything else on your wedding day, so that they may attend your event. They know that the formal invitation will follow at a later date. With that said, you are absolutely fine etiquette-wise to send an e-card or simple email to guests with our “save the date” information! Don’t feel like you have to send a fancy card in the mail.

We hope this information was helpful to you, as you plan out the details for your wedding stationery! If you find you have other questions regarding save the dates, you’re welcome to leave them in the comments section below and we would be happy to answer them for you. Happy wedding planning!

Best,
