There's something undeniably romantic about a Napa Valley wedding. The rolling vineyards, beautiful architecture, and timeless elegance of California wine country create an unforgettable setting for a celebration. For Deena and Logan's wedding at the beautiful Silverado Resort, we wanted their invitations to capture that same sense of understated luxury.

 

Designed in a classic palette of soft ivory, black, and gold, this custom wedding invitation suite brought together some of our favorite printing techniques and finishing details: gold foil stamping, black thermography, luxurious cotton papers, and a custom venue illustration.

 

The result? An elegant, thoughtfully layered pocketfold wedding invitation that offered guests a beautiful first glimpse of the celebration to come.

 

One of our favorite details of Deena and Logan's invitation suite was the custom illustration of their wedding venue, Silverado Resort in Napa Valley, California. With both their wedding ceremony and reception taking place at the resort, we wanted to give this beautiful venue a special place within the invitation design.

 

A delicate architectural illustration of Silverado Resort was positioned at the top of the main invitation, printed in elegant gold foil. The illustration created a beautiful focal point while introducing a meaningful, personalized element to the stationery. 

 

The invitation itself was printed on luxurious Soft Ivory cotton cardstock, combining two beautiful printing techniques. Classic black thermography added a subtle raised texture to the typography, while metallic gold foil brought warmth and a touch of shimmer to the couple's names, venue illustration, and decorative details. We especially love pairing black thermography with gold foil. The contrast feels sophisticated and timeless, making it a beautiful combination for formal weddings and luxury destination wedding invitations.

 

 

 

For this design, we selected a custom tri-fold pocket invitation folder crafted from Soft Ivory shimmer cardstock. The subtle pearlescent finish added a beautiful luminosity without overpowering the invitation's delicate details.

 

Inside the folder, the main invitation was mounted in the center panel, creating a lovely layered presentation against the shimmer cardstock. On the right, a built-in pocket held the accompanying wedding details and RSVP cards, keeping everything neatly organized within the suite. And because we believe even the smallest details deserve a little attention, we added a custom gold foil monogram to the front of the interior pocket. This little touch of gold brought another element of personalization to the design, while beautifully coordinating with the foil details on the invitation itself.

 

Pocketfold wedding invitations are especially lovely for destination weddings and celebrations with multiple events or accommodations information. They offer a refined way to present several pieces of stationery together, without sacrificing the overall aesthetic of the design.

 

 

For Deena and Logan's Napa Valley wedding, we included two coordinating insert cards inside the pocket folder. 

 

The first was a wedding details card, featuring information about guest accommodations at Silverado Resort, along with the couple's wedding website. For guests traveling to California wine country, these details made it easy to plan their stay and access additional wedding weekend information.

 

The second insert was a coordinating RSVP card, featuring a QR code that directed guests to submit their responses online. We love incorporating digital RSVP options into traditional wedding invitation suites. They offer guests the convenience of responding online while still allowing couples to enjoy the beauty and formality of printed wedding stationery.

 

Both insert cards were printed on Soft Ivory cotton cardstock with black thermography, creating a consistent look and feel throughout the suite. For an extra decorative touch, the RSVP card featured a delicate, flat-printed ivory botanical border. Its soft, vine-inspired design felt especially fitting for a romantic Napa Valley wedding, subtly referencing the natural beauty of California wine country.

 

 

To hold the tri-fold invitation folder closed, we designed a custom belly band from matte black cardstock. The band wrapped neatly around the closed pocketfold, providing a striking contrast against the Soft Ivory shimmer paper. At the center, a custom die-cut monogram stamped in metallic gold foil became the focal point. We love the way this little detail brought together the invitation's entire color palette: soft ivory, classic black, and elegant gold.

 

Beyond its decorative appeal, the belly band created a lovely sense of anticipation. Guests would first encounter the beautiful gold monogram before removing the band and unfolding the invitation to discover the details inside. It's a small design decision, but one that makes opening a custom wedding invitation feel like an experience.

 

 

For Deena and Logan, we selected Soft Ivory shimmer mailing envelopes to complement the pocketfold invitation. Inside, we added custom envelope liners crafted from Soft Ivory cotton paper, personalized with the couple's names and wedding date. The elegant script lettering offered a sweet, personalized detail as guests opened their invitations.

 

We love incorporating custom envelope liners into our wedding stationery designs. They're a wonderful opportunity to introduce a monogram, custom illustration, meaningful wording, or simply another beautiful detail that ties the entire suite together. For this design, the personalized liner provided a lovely finishing touch without competing with the invitation's classic, understated aesthetic.

 

From the custom Silverado Resort illustration to the delicate gold foil details, every element of Deena and Logan's wedding invitation suite was designed to feel cohesive, personal, and beautifully considered.

 

The combination of Soft Ivory shimmer cardstock, luxurious cotton papers, raised black thermography, and metallic gold foil created a timeless aesthetic that felt perfectly suited to their elegant Napa Valley wedding.

 

And while we love the visual beauty of this suite, it's the thoughtful little details that make it especially memorable: the personalized envelope liner, the gold foil monogram tucked inside the pocket, and the custom venue illustration that connected the invitation to the celebration itself.
