There are some weddings where every paper detail feels like an extension of the venue itself — timeless, romantic, and filled with quiet elegance. Kate and Austin’s September 2025 wedding at Laurel Hall was exactly that kind of celebration.
Inspired by the historic charm and vintage beauty of Laurel Hall, we created a custom wedding invitation suite that felt soft, refined, and effortlessly romantic from the very first envelope opening.
A Romantic First Impression
The invitation itself was printed on luxurious Soft Ivory cotton cardstock with hand torn deckled edges, giving each piece an organic, heirloom-quality feel. The softness of the cotton paper paired beautifully with the slightly imperfect edges — creating a look that felt elevated without feeling overly formal.
At the top of the invitation, we designed a custom monogram crest featuring the couple’s initials. Details like monograms instantly make a suite feel more personal and intentional, while also becoming a beautiful design element that can carry throughout the entire wedding day.
For Kate and Austin’s suite, the crest added just the right touch of classic sophistication while still maintaining the invitation’s airy, romantic aesthetic.

A Fine Art Illustration of Laurel Hall
One of the standout elements of this suite was the custom venue illustration featured on the cover of the details booklet.
We created a fine art architectural illustration of Laurel Hall, capturing the venue’s historic character and storybook-like charm in a soft, artistic style. Venue illustrations are one of our favorite ways to make invitations feel deeply connected to the wedding experience itself — especially at venues as iconic and visually beautiful as Laurel Hall.
The illustration gave guests a first glimpse into the atmosphere of the day long before they ever arrived.
Silk Ribbon & Custom Wax Seal Details
The invitation cards were stacked and wrapped in a Soft Ivory silk ribbon for an intentionally soft, romantic presentation. Silk ribbon adds movement and texture in a way that instantly elevates an invitation suite, especially when paired with delicate materials like cotton paper and deckled edges.
To finish the suite, each ribbon wrap was secured with a custom gold wax seal featuring the couple’s “KA” initials. The warm metallic gold added subtle contrast against the soft ivory tones while tying into the suite’s vintage-inspired aesthetic beautifully.
These tactile details are often what guests remember most — the soft ribbon, the texture of the paper, the weight of the wax seal — because they transform invitations from simple stationery into an experience.
The Envelope Liner That Stole the Show
Perhaps the most romantic detail of all was the envelope liner.
Inside each envelope was a vintage-inspired watercolor floral liner featuring soft roses and painterly florals in muted, romantic tones. The liner created a beautiful surprise moment for guests as soon as the envelope was opened, adding depth, color, and a touch of old-world charm to the suite.
Envelope liners are often one of the most impactful ways to add personality and artistry to a wedding invitation design, and this one perfectly complemented the overall vintage elegance of Kate and Austin’s wedding style.
Timeless Wedding Invitations with a Soft Vintage Feel
From the hand torn edges to the watercolor florals and silk ribbon finishing details, every piece of Kate and Austin’s invitation suite was designed to feel timeless, romantic, and deeply personal to their wedding day.
The final result felt perfectly at home with the historic beauty of Laurel Hall — soft, elegant, and full of thoughtful details that welcomed guests into the celebration long before the wedding day arrived.
If you're dreaming of custom wedding invitations with fine art details, romantic textures, and a refined vintage aesthetic, custom stationery allows every detail to feel beautifully connected to your story.
