Summer weddings have a special kind of magic in Indiana. Long evenings, lush greenery, and elegant venues create the perfect backdrop for timeless celebrations. Kelsey and Tyler’s beautiful wedding at the The Bridgewater Club embraced that summer elegance with a soft, romantic palette of blues and classic coastal-inspired details.
Their celebration blended “Hamptons meets Midwest” style, pairing crisp whites with soft watercolor blues, hydrangea florals, and thoughtful stationery details that carried the aesthetic from the invitations all the way through the reception tables.
A Classic Blue Wedding Invitation Suite
Everything about a wedding starts at the wedding invitation. Kelsey and Tyler’s invitation suite perfectly set the tone for their elegant summer wedding!
The design featured soft watercolor blue and white hydrangeas framing the invitation card, creating a romantic botanical border that felt fresh, classic, and seasonal. At the top of the invitation sat a custom watercolor “KT” crest, adding a personal monogram element that carried throughout the suite.
Other elegant details included in a scroll-frame die cut details card, a hand-drawn illustration of Bridgewater Club, and a classic wrap-around band that neatly bundled the stacked cards together.
The finished suite felt both coastal and classic, reminiscent of East Coast summer weddings while still perfectly suited for an elegant Midwest venue.

A Beautiful Wedding Venue in Carmel, Indiana
Located just north of Indianapolis, The Bridgewater Club is one of Central Indiana’s most sought-after wedding venues.
Couples love the venue for its combination of refined architecture, lush golf course views, and versatile indoor and outdoor spaces. The property offers several stunning locations for wedding celebrations, including ceremony lawns, elegant reception spaces, and beautiful patios for cocktail hour.
For Kelsey and Tyler’s celebration, guests enjoyed a relaxed summer cocktail hour outdoors before moving into the reception, where the blue color palette carried beautifully throughout the décor.
Butterfly Escort Cards on a Garden Trellis
Guests were welcomed into cocktail hour with one of the most thoughtful & whimsical details of the day.
Escort cards were designed as delicate blue butterflies and attached to a white garden trellis display, creating a stunning installation as guests entered the patio. The butterflies added movement, dimension, and a soft romantic feel to the wedding space. As guests found their names, they removed their butterfly escort card and discovered their assigned table for dinner.
It was both a beautiful décor feature and a functional seating display, blending seamlessly with the garden-inspired atmosphere of the evening.

Elegant Table Numbers with Soft Blue Florals
At each reception table, the blue theme continued with elegant table numbers featuring a soft blue floral pattern background. Displayed in sleek silver bases, the table numbers complemented the rest of the tablescape without overpowering the floral arrangements. The soft pattern echoed the hydrangea tones used throughout the invitation suite, creating a cohesive design story from invitation to reception.
The Showstopper: Hydrangea Laser-Cut Menu Cards
If there was one piece of wedding stationery that stole the show, it was the menu cards.
These unique designs featured round menu cards layered over blue circular backers, creating a modern yet romantic shape for each place setting.
The top layer included watercolor hydrangeas that matched the invitations, but the real magic was in the finishing detail: The hydrangea artwork was laser cut, allowing the petals and leaves to spill gracefully beyond the edge of the circular card. This detail created a dimensional, sculptural effect that elevated the entire tablescape.
To make the experience even more personal, each menu card listed only the guest’s pre-selected entrée, turning every place setting into a customized piece of stationery. It was a thoughtful touch that guests loved—and one that made the table design feel truly special.

Why Blue Is One of the Best Wedding Color Palettes
Blue continues to be one of the most popular wedding color palettes — and for good reason. Soft tones like French blue, dusty blue, and watercolor blues feel romantic, elegant and timeless. They pair beautifully with classic wedding elements like hydrangeas, chinoiserie patterns, and monogram crests.
Blue also works especially well for...
- Summer weddings
- Coastal or Hamptons-inspired celebrations
- Classic garden weddings
- Estate or country club venues
When layered with crisp whites, silver accents, or soft greenery, blue creates a palette that feels fresh, refined, and effortlessly elegant.
A Perfectly Cohesive Wedding Day
From the hydrangea-bordered invitation suite to the butterfly escort display and the breathtaking laser-cut menus, Kelsey and Tyler’s wedding day paper created a cohesive design story that carried throughout their entire celebration.
Their summer wedding at The Bridgewater Club was the perfect blend of Midwest elegance and East Coast inspiration—proving that thoughtful stationery details can truly elevate every part of the wedding experience!
