What does this entail, you ask? We’re happy to give you a run down of all the perks you’ll receive through our full service invitation design process.
This invitation design service allows you to be as present as you wish throughout the design process. Initially, you will meet with the owner and lead designer, Cari Bowersock, to discuss your wedding color and paper selections and invitation design style. This meeting will also allow you the chance to look at invitation add on options – such as custom wax seals, silk ribbon, double envelope sets, pocketfolds, vellum gatefold wraps, and even custom laser cut bands and wraps. You’ll also be able to look at samples for various printing methods, including letterpress, gold foil (also called foil stamping), thermography (raised ink), debossing, embossing, and digital offset printing. Other new trends we are also beginning to offer are deckled edge paper, velvet and other textured papers.
After our meeting & once you’ve submitted your custom design retainer fee, the fun part begins – the custom design process! You will receive a batch of custom wedding invitation designs in the form of PDF documents. This will allow you to see various calligraphy, serif and san serif fonts, along with a variety of design elements, based on the details discussed during the initial meeting. We are committed to transforming your wedding style and inspiration into a custom wedding invitation – designed especially with you and your fiancé in mind.
As you can see above, the design process allows you to make font and design changes, making it truly customized to your special wedding day.
If you are not local to the Indianapolis area, we are happy to work with you remotely! We often work with clients in other areas outside central Indiana, so this is no problem at all. You will still receive the upmost attention and customer service that our Indianapolis area brides receive. Our digital wedding invitation design process works great for brides in any location, whether that be in Indianapolis, Carmel, Brownsburg, Zionsville, Greenwood, Whitestown, Louisville, KY, Chicago, IL or beyond.
The fun doesn’t stop there though! Once the wedding invitation design process is completed and the wedding invitations are mailed out, we will begin the custom design process for your wedding day stationery. The most commonly requested wedding day stationery items are wedding ceremony programs, wedding reception menus, seating charts, seating cards, place cards, table numbers, and favor tags. Other popular add on items are wedding weekend itineraries, coasters, beverage napkins, signature drink signs and other reception signs.
We also offer laser cutting services! We have laser machines in-house and do all of this here in the studio. We love helping clients create laser cut wood and acrylic items for their wedding backdrops, laser cut wood place cards for guests’ plates, laser cut wood or acrylic table numbers, and even laser cut paper items – menus are the most popularly requested laser cut items!

Everyone knows we love weddings – it’s the heart and soul of our creative business. Weddings are so romantic and fun, which both translate well into stationery design.
Did you know we also provide custom design services for other types of events, besides weddings? We LOVE helping clients create beautiful paperie and signage for charity and non-profit events, anniversary celebrations, holiday parties, and other big gatherings.
Most large events carry a theme throughout – whether it be a slogan, logo, color scheme, or particular holiday. Custom stationery is the best and most affordable way to carry these design elements into the event without overdoing it: Simple but classy invitations, small pops of color on menu cards, themed table number signs, and a subtle welcome sign at the entrance, just to name a few!
One of the most recent non-profit events for which we created custom stationery was The Pearl, hosted by Guerin Catholic High School. This charitable event celebrates the overall mission of Guerin Catholic. It helped raise money for the Indianapolis area high school, and gave the school a chance to present various awards. Creating an inviting and elegant evening will entice guests to donate, and that’s exactly what Guerin Catholic did.
With the help of the team at Boldly Chic Events, Guerin Catholic planned the charitable event for approximately 350 guests. For our part, we helped them create menu cards, table number signs, and various signage to display throughout the dinner event. The menu cards featured a lovely lapis purple, to help tie in the school’s colors elegantly. The menus also featured an ornate die cut shape, as well as the event’s logo header at the top. The tented table numbers were layered onto a lovely gold metallic paper, and embellished with purple satin ribbon and a pearl and rhinestone brooch. The miscellaneous signage included large entry welcome signs, 8x10 signs for the bar areas, and various tent cards for reserved tables and hashtag information for Instagram (to help boost the event’s promotion).
Their total custom stationery investment for their 350-guest event?
As we said, it’s incredibly affordable to take your event’s design to the next level with custom stationery. If you do the math above, they spent roughly $1.15 per person to add lovely stationery touches throughout their charitable event! WOW, talk about budget friendly!

Though, we also want to note that our custom design services for weddings and events are not just limited to Indianapolis, Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville, Brownsburg and Central Indiana. I should start off with a disclaimer…
One thing I won’t claim to be is an expert at Instagram or social media. Perhaps if I were a Marketing major at Purdue in current time, I would be! But so much has changed since earning my degree many moons ago – a big one being the emergence of social media platforms.
Though, I will say I’ve learned a lot about Instagram through our presence on the social media platform over last few years. Here are a few tips and tricks I’ve learned, which can help your Instagram exposure, increase your post likes and interactions, and help you gain followers.
We all know Instagram has an algorithm that determines where you show up in others’ feeds. These tips and tricks will essentially help boost your clout!
- WHO YOU FOLLOW
First, it’s important to interact on a regular basis with those that you follow. Be sure to spend a 5-10 minutes a day scrolling through your Instagram feed, liking and leaving comments (4+ words is the rule of thumb. Emojis are fun but don’t count towards your word count!).
- BE SURE TO FOLLOW BACK
When new instagram accounts begin to follow you, it's important to follow them back! Instagram will pick up on the fact that you're interactive with your followers. My usual rule of thumb: If the account is semi-relevant to my line of work (for example: weddings, graphic design, laser cutting), I will follow them back. The exceptions to this "follow back" rule would be the obvious fake or "sales" accounts, who will likely unfollow you within a day or two.
*** A tip to manage this, to weed out the "follow for follow" seekers: download an app that generates instagram reports, such as Reports+ (my go-to app). This will tell you who has unfollowed you - so, if you see someone on this report that you followed back, just unfollow them. They were just fishing for followers anyway!
- FOLLOWING HASHTAGS
Start following a few hashtags that are of interest or relevance to you. For instance, I follow #weddinginvitations, #engagementphotos, and #indianaweddings (to name a few). I follow about 10 hashtags total. This gives you some diversity in your Instagram feed & allows you the chance to like and comment on other’s photos that you don’t necessarily follow (another element that helps boost your clout!).
- INSTAGRAM STORIES
Utilize your “stories” feature! It shows Instagram that you are an active user, not a passive occasional one. These can be as personal or impersonal as you’d like. Though, I’ll say from experience, the first option tends to get more interaction. Show your followers what you’re working on that day, give sneak peeks into projects or events, or create a fun poll (either business or non-business related). Be sure to include a hashtag to gain more visibility. Also, if your story involves another Instagram user, it’s important to tag them! They’ll then have the opportunity to share your story in their story – and BOOM, upping your clout again. =)
- POSTING NEW CONTENT
Post new content 2-3 times a week consistently. I know this one is a struggle during our busiest times (I fail at times). If you fall off the posting wagon, just hop right back on as soon as you can. You’ll notice you may have lost a tiny bit of clout (with less likes and followers), but you’ll quickly pick back up! With each post, it’s important to utilize your hashtags (you can use up to 14) and tag others when you can (i.e. the venue featured, the photographer’s work who should be credited, other individuals who also contributed to the content of the photo or setting).
