Gold, Ivory and Blush Pink tones were the perfect backdrop for Emily & Ryan's wedding day in Dayton, Ohio. They had a specific vision for their wedding color palette, then enlisted my help to translate that into a classic & elegant wedding invitation suite. They gave me free design reign and were open to ideas - music to my ears!
See below for the finished product!
We printed their invitation cards and inserts on Soft Ivory cotton cardstock, with flat printing in Antique Gold matte ink. We stacked all of the cards and bundled them in a Blush Pink matte paper band, then placed them inside a semi-translucent Vellum gatefold card. The vellum card was held closed by a custom botanical patterned Rose Gold wax seal. The couple requested just a touch more color to be incorporated into their invitation - we opted for a Blush Pink matte monogrammed liner inside of their mailing envelope. We love the finished look!

The couple and their wedding party strolled around Dayton for pre-wedding photos. Their classic and elegant wedding style was ever apparent in their attire, both for the couple and their wedding party. Sherwood Florist provided the most elegant bouquets and boutonnieres to compliment their wedding attire.

The wedding day started with a full mass Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster, Ohio. The church is set in the same small town that Emily's parents reside in. The church is beautiful and ornate, inside and out.
The couple wanted to make sure the guests stayed full informed throughout the full mass wedding ceremony. They worked with us to create custom wedding ceremony program booklets. The booklet cards featured a Blush Pink shimmer cardstock cover and a Soft Ivory satin ribbon bow along the binding. The inside pages provided guests with the ceremony order of events, wedding party details, directions and information about the wedding reception, an "In Loving Memory" section, and a special note to guests from the Bride & Groom.

Guests later arrived at Grande Hall at Liberty Tower for cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. The wedding celebration was perfectly decorated from floor to ceiling - with Sherwood Florist creating intricate florals at the tables, as well as around the cocktail and lounge areas. Not to mention, the abundance of candelight enhanced the romantic vibes throughout.
The Grande Hall at Liberty Tower is a fairly new venue in the Dayton wedding scene. With it's almost 100-year history, the venue offers a Setback Art Deco architecture style in both it's interior and exterior. This beautiful space features marble floors, handcrafted woodworking, and soaring 30-foot tall vaulted ceilings. The Grande Hall is a perfect blend of historic elegance and modern amenities. Not to mention, this grand space can host up to 300 guests at a seated reception!
FUN FACT: Did you know The Grande Hall was also the Movie Set for Robert Redford’s “The Old Man & The Gun”?
Yes! You read that right - The Grande Hall was transformed for this classic movie, based on the true story of Forrest Tucker - a career criminal who escaped prison 18 times, The movie stars Robert Redford, Casey Affleck, Danny Glover, Sissy Spacek, Tika Sumpter and Tom Waits. "The Old Man & The Gun" filmed throughout the space, including the main hall, bank vault, balcony and all along West Second Street.

Each plate was accented with a Blush Pink satin napkin, with a custom menu card tucked underneath. The cards featured Blush Pink shimmer place cards attached at the top by a delicate Gold metal brad. The menu cards themselves were each customized with the guest's pre-selected entree details. Emily & Ryan's wedding day was seamlessly planned, organized and executed to perfection by Laura at Simply Events LLC.

Emily and Ryan both have ties to Washington D.C. through their employment. The couple chose to forego table numbers, and instead named their tables after significant D.C. landmarks. We printed the table names on the clear acrylic cards, and displayed them in gold harp stanchions. We were especially careful not to make them over 7" tall. This was to ensure they complimented (and did not compete with) the lovely centerpieces and other tabletop decor.

Guests found their table assignments on these custom clear acrylic seating chart signs, which were displayed tabletop in custom wood bases. We continued the use of Emily & Ryan's custom wedding monogram throughout their seating charts (and menus, table signs, and programs) to ensure a cohesiveness throughout their wedding day paperie.

My signature wedding stationery design style can easily be described as classic, elegant, and timeless. When Emily & Ryan came to me with their wedding vision and custom stationery request, I knew right away we were going to work together well! I loved their personal style & wedding vision, and had so much fun creating all of their custom wedding invitations and day-of paperie elements. This will forever be one of my favorites. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Palm Springs meets Indianapolis in this latest wedding feature!
The newest trending wedding style is mid-century modern. Today's featured wedding took place at Woodstock Club on the north side of Indianapolis, and was jam packed with mid-century modern goodness. The day was captured by Kaitlin Mendoza Photography & was coordinated by Lisa VanHorton Weddings.
** We adore both Kaitlin & Lisa, and highly recommend them if you're looking for a photographer or wedding planner in Indianapolis!
** We adore both Kaitlin & Lisa, and highly recommend them if you're looking for a photographer or wedding planner in Indianapolis!

The custom mid-century modern wedding invitation suite featured a vintage color palette. The invitation card itself was printed on a Rust colored arch die cut card, with the signature "Palm Springs" -esque sunburst motif printed at the top. The stacked invitation cards were bundled in a thin leather band, and tucked into a mailing envelope that featured a colorful vintage patterned liner.
The bridal party chose to get ready in some of the Woodstock's private suites. We adore the bride's makeup and hairstyle - it was a perfect fit to the mid-century modern wedding style set in place for the day!

The sun was out in full force, and the temperature was perfect for this Fall wedding day in Indianapolis. This ideal weather allowed Kaitlin Mendoza to capture the most beautiful outdoor photos of the couple. Not to mention, Woodstock Club offers so many great spots for wedding day photos!

The colorful floral elements were hand crafted by Special Occasions by Chrissy. We especially love the bold orange tones she pulled through most of the floral arrangements. While sometimes a color that is overused for Fall weddings, these orange blooms were just the right vibe for this mid-century modern wedding day.

Check out the bride's bouquet! You can't have a mid-century modern inspired wedding day without oranges, yellows and teals. The florals for this special day were so bright and colorful. How could you not smile all day looking at these pretty blooms?

The wedding ceremony was held outdoor on the side lawn, after which guests came inside for a lunch reception. The reception was held in the main ballroom, where the buttery walls and gold ornate details complimented the mid-century modern wedding decor seamlessly. We created a custom 3-D wedding welcome sign for the ballroom entrace to the wedding reception. It boasted a natural stained background, with laser cut white lettering and a sunburst motif adhered to the front. The fun "Welcome to Our Oasis" gave nod to the "Palm Springs" wedding vibe, and will be a lovely keepsake for the couple to display in their home after the wedding.

Each table featured a bold colored table linen, alternating from a vintage-inspired Yellow and a rich Teal hue. The napkins alternated with the table linens, as well! Each guest enjoyed a custom wood menu card in a vintage throwback "stadium" geometric shape (or a "pill" shape as some like to call it), with the text laser etched on front. The menus were also personalized with the couple's names an wedding date at the bottom.

Sweet Paige's Cakes from Brownsburg provided the sweets for the day! This orange and white confection masterpiece featured a mid-century modern inspired pattern throughout, with small blooms from Special Occasions by Chrissy to dress it up. I especially love the vintage cake stand & floral table linen the couple incorporated on their cake table - both of which are family heirlooms! That makes it even more special, don't you think?

Table numbers were printed to coordinate with each of the varying table linens, and were displayed in chunky wood bases. The wedding reception tables also featured bold colored drinkware, varying candle lighting, and wood chairs (provided by Woodstock! How perfect.) to complete the wedding table styling.

Special attention was given to the sweetheart table - velvet upholstered high back vintage chairs were set in place for the couple, along with a vintage patterned table linen and florals in retro vases.

Guests were greeted by an open bar, where the couple were also offering signature cocktails that they had hand picked. Hers was a Mango Margarita, and His was an Old Fashioned. Some of our favorite wedding day paper elements were these custom mid-century modern signature drink signs!

The couple changed into cozier (but still adorable & classy) attire and jet setted off for their honeymoon directly following the wedding celebration. Any guesses of their honeymoon destination?
It was none other than Palm Springs! How adorable and fitting is that?

Wasn't this quaint mid-century modern wedding day full of the coolest details? We sure think so! We had so much fun creating all of the fun details on this one!

Taylor and Ben's wedding day was a true classic, in every sense of the word! Their original nuptials were sadly postponed during the Covid pandemic, but they quickly pivoted to create the wedding of their dreams later in 2021.
Their classic invitation suite featured a Forest Green matte envelope liner, a featured color throughout the wedding. The invitation card was printed in black matte ink, with the bride and groom names featured prominently in shimmery Gold Foil. They paired a traditional response card and envelope with the invitation, as well as a small details card with other wedding information. The stacked pieces were bundled in an ivory silk ribbon.
This custom invitation was clean and classic, a style that Taylor and Ben carried throughout their wedding stationery pieces.

Wedding photos with your sweet pup...does it get any better than that? ♥ ♥ ♥
Scout is the apple of their eye - Taylor and Ben knew he had to be incorporated into their big day somehow! They brought him along for formal family photos of the three of them, captured by the talented Sara Ackermann Photography. They also tasked us with a custom sketch of Scout for the top of their seating chart, as well as listed him in their wedding programs. Though he wasn't at the venue during the celebration, their pup was ever present throughout the wedding celebration! ♥

Taylor and Ben had a clean and classic aesthetic in mind for their bridal party attire. The bridesmaids wore varying dress styles in Black, with bouquets boasting white blooms and lots of greenery for contrast. The groomsmen donned black suits to coorespond with the groom's dapper style. Sweet little Scout wore a custom greenery garland for their downtown photos!

The great thing about the Biltwell is that it's already a beautiful setting on it's own. The wood floors, brick walls, tall ceilings and wood beam pillars provide an easy canvas to use for your wedding reception! Taylor and Ben opted to add minimal florals and some statement draping for their ceremony backdrop. That's all this lovely space needed to set the ceremony space apart.
Once guests found their way to their tables for dinner, each place setting featured a black deckled edge place card with guest names written in gold calligraphy (Shout out to Painted Letter Co. for their help with these pretties!). On top of each clear glass charger were Forest Green round monogrammed cards, with the dinner menu printed on the back. Fun floral linen napkins polished off the pretty place settings.

Taylor and Ben finally had the wedding celebration of their dreams. Covid was not going to stand in their way! We are thrilled that everything came together perfectly for this special couple. Their love is admirable and we simply adore them. Congrats, Taylor & Ben!
