Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Indianapolis is the ideal backdrop for a clean and classic wedding style - and it was the perfect setting for Allison and Geoff's Spring wedding day!
This couple originally planned to tie the knot in 2021, but quickly pivotted when the mask mandates were holding strong. They rescheduled their wedding date gracefully, so that all of their guests could celebrate comfortably. We have had a blast working with this lovely couple & were celebrating big when they finally were able to celebrate their long awaited nuptials!
For their custom wedding invitation suite, they wanted to use a soft Ivory cotton paper for all pieces. We then printed all text and graphics in a metallic Gold thermography raised ink (this is similar to the old-school engraving print method). They selected a calligraphy "H" monogram to use throughout the invitation suite and on the custom Gold wax seal, which embellished the vellum folder that surrounded the stacked invitaion pieces. The wedding details card featured a custom venue sketch illustration of the Scottish Rite Cathedral facade. We finished the invitation card with a Taupe matte paper backer, adding extra thickness and elevating the look of the invitation card above the other pieces.
We can tell by their wedding party photos that their friends and family were just as elated to see this day finally come! Covid was not stopping this couple from having the wedding day of their dreams. Their bridal party members were all dressed in black, emphasizing the classic elegance of their wedding day. We love how beautifully an all-black attire wedding party photographs! Allison and Geoff's wedding photos will be absolutely timeless.
We also need to give huge accolades to the best wedding floral designer in Indianapolis - RK Florals! The bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres, the wedding reception centerpieces, the floral accents around all of the signage and wedding ceremony entrance....Robyn knocked these designs out of the park! Every blooom and arrangement was breathtaking.
For their wedding reception entrance, the couple chose a traditional white seating chart with gold matte lettering. Guest names were alphabetized with their table numbers adjacent to their names. Alphabetizing your guests' names on your seating chart is to way to go - they can find their seating assignment with ease & quickly move on to cocktail hour.
PRO TIP: If you'd like to get more use out of your seating chart, we recommend double sided printing. Perhaps you can print a beautiful love quote on the back, the evening's order of events, or a simple "Let's celebrate!" - you can then flip the sign over for use later in the evening. I've also had couples who simply print their names and monogram on the back, and frame this piece in their home after the wedding.
This wedding rounded out our last of the Covid pandemic wedding reschedules. These couples have been extra special to us, to say the least! We are so grateful for their grace and flexibility through the uncertainty surrounding events in the presence of Covid. Allison and Geoff, you will always hold a special place in our hearts! Congratulations!

Summer in Indianapolis yields some of the prettiest weddings - Melissa and David's wedding day in August of 2021 is a prime example! This beautiful wedding day was filled with some of our most favorite details - a (real!) ceremony floral arch, perfect weather for outdoor photos and wedding nuptials, a soft wedding color palette, luxurious wedding stationery (with vellum, gold foil printing, floral patterns, and wax seal details), and unique installations throughout the wedding day (an elegant champagne wall, an elegant balloon installation, and gorgeous fabric seating chart, just to name a few)!
We love how Melissa's talented photograher, Jordan Leffel, took the extra time to photograph all of Melissa's finer wedding day details and accessories. Some photographers breeze through these and the results are ho-hum, at best. Jordan was meticulous in her placement of florals and use of lighting, and didn't leave a single detail unphotographed. When we first looked through Melissa & David's virtual wedding photo album, it was clear to see how much Jordan loves and takes her job as a wedding photographer to heart. Not to mention, her photography work itself is a work of art!
For her custom wedding invitation suite, Melissa had a very specific vision to set the stage for her wedding day (After all, the wedding invitation is your guests' first look at your wedding day!). Her first request was for a custom monogram crest that she could carry out through the whole wedding, from the invitations to the wedding day stationery. Because she desired to infuse Gold Foil printing into her invitation and accompanying cards, we used Gold Foil for her monogram, bride and groom names, and custom venue sketch.
Other details that were also important to the couple were the custom artwork elements we were to be using. To dress up the invitation suite and infuse some color, we added hand painted watercolor flowers inside of her wedding invitation envelope, featuring her wedding color palette of Blush, Pink, Ivory and subtle greenery. For this couple, we also created a custom drawing of Daniel's Vineyard, their wedding venue, to use on their "Details" card. (Venue sketches are some of our favorite elements to create!)
Lastly, the bride and groom wanted to be sure the bundling of all of the invitation pieces was soft and elegant. The vellum wrap helped bring in her desired softened look, with the Blush Pink paper band and Antique Gold monogram wax seal exuding the desired level of elegance. Melissa and David's wedding style and preferences came together beautifully! We're sure guests enjoyed them just as much as the bride and groom.
Speaking of gorgeous details, we still can't get over the beautiful wedding flowers that were designed and created by Robyn at RK Florals. As one of our favorite local wedding florists, we love her romantic, ethereal, artistic floristy. Everything is loose and flowy, which plays well on Melissa and David's soft and romantic wedding style.
When it came to designing stationery elements for the wedding reception, the bride had a special request for an arch die cut menu card. We don't blame her, these are popular item request as of recent years! She also wanted to get a little more casual and fun with the reception paper and laser cut details, to get the party started....
Upon arrival to the wedding ceremony, guests were greeted by a custom champagne wall, accented by the couple's "sip and be seated" laser cut wood sign (painted in a lovely Gold!), created by Interprintations. We also created custom gold foil beverage napkins with their lovely monogram crest (not pictured). Believe me, the extra elements added to your champagne wall and cocktail hour - such as festive signage, custom napkins and coasters, and cute little stir sticks - never go unnoticed! Guests love the added details and they make for great photo ops throughout the day and evening.
Also swoon worthy is the custom wedding ceremony arch, created by RK Florals!
Listen, we've seen the faux floral arches that seem to be all the rave. Honestly though, who wants to have a used floral arch as the focal point of their wedding reception? Yielding ceremony photos that look like hundreds of other local weddings? You will never regret pulling out all the stops for a real, true custom ceremony backdrop. Skip the faux and get the real deal. This is a perfect example of how much more beautiful it will be!

We knew we wanted to do something original and outside-of-the-box for Melissa and David's seating chart. A traditional white sign on a standard easel just wouldn't do! With the help if Elderflower Design's balloons and RK Florals' flower creations, we put together a beautiful display - a draping fabric seating chart display on a gold pipe stand, with a fun and festive backdrop of monotone balloons and florals. The linen seating chart featured the clients' custom monogram crest (which they will later cut down to a keepsake banner or pillow). This was the sight that guests saw as they entered the reception space for cocktail hour. The vision came together perfectly!
I love how this couple truly carried over their stationery style from their custom wedding invitations to their wedding day elements - the blush menus with corresponding fonts, the unique fabric escort display with their monogram crest, their laser cut place cards painted in Gold - to create a cohesive wedding vibe. This couple let me have quite a bit of free creative reign, for which I'm so grateful! It truly allowed me to be 100% fully present for the creative process and pull their vision together seamlessly. Brides, trust your wedding design team - they've done this many times and know what will work best. Trust us! =)
Congrats, Melissa and David! It was truly an honor to be a part of your special day. Best wishes and many Congratulations!

Destination weddings are on the rise again....and couples are starting to think outside the box on destination spots!
Emily & Austin hosting their wedding ceremony and reception at the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina. The warm Spring weather yielded the perfect outdoor setting for their wedding vows, followed by a catered dinner in the Carriage House immediately following. The guests dined while enjoying festive music, dancing, and incredible views of the Ashley River.
The couple wanted to pull in many elements of Southern Charm into their wedding. The invitation, response card and details card were all printed on a cotton paper with hand torn deckled edges. The soft bronze ink paired well with the vintage watercolor painting by Alfred Heber Hutty, which we used to line the mailing envelope. The stacked cards were bundled in the softest Blush tone silk ribbon.
Emily's gown was the perfect blend of lace and toile for a "southern belle" style! Her custom cathedral length veil featured floral embroidery that matched her dress detailing.
The couple chose to write their own vows inside custom vow books that matched their wedding invitation suite. They were printed on the same cotton paper with hand torn deckled edging, with sketched floral elements to mimic those used on the invitation card. They chose to tie blush pink silk ribbon on them to add a touch more detail.
The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn beside the Carriage House, in front of the huge live oak trees.
Cheers to the newlyweds! It was such a joy creating these artistic and southern wedding paper details for their special celebration. Congrats, Emily & Austin!
