There's just something extra special about a private estate wedding reception. It provides a beautiful and unique setting, a breath of fresh air from the standard ballroom wedding. It insures complete privacy and the feel of a destination wedding locale, as opposed to just another hotel.
Our clients, Annalee & David, opted to host their wedding reception at a private family estate, and it was heavenly. Today, we’re recapping their special day on the blog!
Their wedding day started with a ceremony at the Indianapolis Art Center, nestled in the center of Indianapolis’ popular Broad Ripple neighborhood. The ceremony was held outside, with a geometric wood arch serving as the couple’s nuptial backdrop, provided by Blue Blossom Rentals. The arch was adorned with beautiful florals, designed by David at The Empty Vase.
The Empty Vase also created all of the bouquets, wedding reception centerpieces, and all other floral accents…just wait until you see all of David’s beautiful floral masterpieces in the photos below!
Our favorite part of the ceremony was that it was officiated by the bride’s grandfather. What a wonderful way to begin your marriage – with your grandfather pronouncing you as husband and wife!

After the ceremony, the couple made their way to the family’s private estate for their wedding reception. The couple selected a stylish Bentley getaway car, with a custom “just married” sign attached to the back. Talk about arriving to their big celebration in style!
Guests were greeted by a custom wooden seating chart, adorned with more beautiful wedding flowers. After cocktail hour, guests found their seats inside the large white tent – which was decorated to the nines! The wooden farm tables provided family-style reception seating, and were perfectly paired with wooden cross-back chairs. Atop the tables were varying linens in mauve and neutral hues, along with lush floral centerpieces in varying heights.
When it comes to event rentals, we have so many great resources here in the Indianapolis area - many of the items pictured below were rentals from A Classic Party Rental and Atmospheres. The abundance of candlelight added another level of romance to the wedding reception ambiance, and complimented the private estate wedding reception setting quite well.

The evening continued as guests dined on a delicious dinner provided by Pinnacle Catering Group, enjoyed some macarons from the couple's custom Macaron Bar, and sipped on champagne throughout the bridal party's toasts. The bride and groom and all of their wedding guests then danced the evening away under the stars (another plus side to a private estate wedding, we might add). The evening ended on a sparkly note with a traditional sparkler exit for the newlyweds!
Congrats, Annalee & David!

If you’re engaged, you may have already started your wedding venue search and discovered there are endless venue options in Indianapolis – one of our favorites being Industry!
The name says it all – if you’re looking for an industrial vibe in your wedding venue, Industry’s exposed brick, concrete floors, and steel beams will win you over.
This past April, we were delighted to provide stationery for a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception setup at Industry. Today, we’re sharing a few photos and snippets about this special day….

The wedding color palette
When you think Spring, the first elements that come to mind (at least for me) are fresh, bright florals and pops of greenery. That is exactly what inspired this Spring wedding color palette.
The florals bring in the most colors, and were designed by the talented Nakia Miller at Fork & Function. She is a styling and floral goddess - if you need help pulling together your wedding day aesthetic, book her now!

The bride and groom chose to also pull some color in through a tiered wedding cake, the table linens, and in custom neon pink “love” sign that was hung from the ceremony backdrop (we love this unique idea – neon signs are starting to trend and we adore it)!

The vows
The bride and groom said their vows in front of a custom backdrop, provided by Blossom Rentals. As part of their gifts to each other, they gave each other a copy of their vows – printed in calligraphy on handmade cotton paper. What a beautiful keepsake from your wedding day! If you are placing a custom stationery order through us, shoot us an email & we’re happy to give you more details on ordering these keepsake prints.

The stationery & details
The couple kept things simple in their stationery, as not to overly compete with the other colorful décor. The programs were simple flat panel, double sided cards, printed on a white cotton cardstock. We then added a custom wax seal at the top to add a hint of vintage romance.
Guests were greeted by traditional seating chart during cocktail hour, where they found their names in alphabetical order & their table assignments listed next to their name. Guests enjoyed light bites and signature cocktails for a short while, and then began to find their seats for the dinner reception.
As guests approached their assigned tables, they found their seats by the names on each personalized menu card. The menus were printed on white cotton cardstock, and featured an antique gold wax seal and small strips of fuchsia pink satin ribbon at the top.
We always hear how wedding guests gush over feeling so very special, with the attention to detail of personalizing each menu. So, if it’s something you’re considering….go for it! Your guests will remember it always and feel like they are very much a special part of your big day. ????
Throughout the wedding reception, guests enjoyed other small stationery details – such as signature drink signs at each bar, custom foil stamped cocktail napkins, and little favor boxes for the custom dessert bar – just to name a few!

Pulling out all of these photos for today’s blog have us antsy for our Spring 2020 weddings – each year, our clients amaze us with their attention to detail and appreciation for great designs. We specialize in creating elements that make your day a one-of-a-kind wedding, and we are always so humbled and honored that you have invited us to play a small role!
Cheers to another fun wedding season - we are so excited to see what you have in store for us, 2020!
