If you love bold reds and peaches, and appreciate the finest and most intricate wedding stationery details, you have come to the right place! Today's blog features Jocelyn and James' perfect wedding day at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana.
Jocelyn and James fused together their Chinese and Korean cultures and wedding traditions, coupled with their American roots, to create the coolest wedding day vibes. They started with a fun color palette in their wedding invitations. The wedding invitation itself featured a combination of flat printing and Gold Foil printed details, layered on bold red cardstock and adhered inside a pretty Peach pocketfold card. The couple offered their guests the option to either RSVP traditionally via a mailed response card, or RSVP online on their wedding website. They also included a custom wedding map for guests, which featured venue illustrations and watercolor elements we created exclusively for their wedding invitation suite. (I think their map may be one of my favorites of all time! It's like a little piece of art tucked into their wedding invitation, for all guests to enjoy and keep.)
Their bold red wedding invitation envelope featured a custom and colorful watercolor floral bouquet that mirrored the color palette used throughout their other wedding invitation details. To finish off the look, the invitation pocket folder was held closed by a delicate red silk ribbon and an Antique Gold wax seal with their signature double-J monogram.
Chloe Luka Photography did a great job at capturing their wedding stationery in their wedding day flat lay detail photos!
It was so hard to narrow down our favorites. They are all so beautiful!

Jocelyn's bridal style was so darling and unique. We especially loved the intricate lace details throughout her wedding gown, as well as the matching beaded and lace headpiece she wore during the ceremony and reception.
Her look was perfectly accented by the incredible bouquet designed by Robyn at RK Florals. The bouquet boasted pops of color to coordinate with the reds, peaches and pinks that the couple selected for their other wedding day elements.
RK Floral's beautiful floral art continued through to the ceremony, where she incorporated the loveliest floral details up the aisle and at the alter. Coxhall Gardens is so lovely on it's own, but can sometimes lack color in this particular ceremony space. RK Florals' designs added the perfect amount of color and depth to the ceremony space...yielding the most stunning photos of the ceremony!
It was very important to Jocelyn to incorporate the "double love" Chinese symbol throughout her wedding day decor. We used this custom "double love" symbol on her bold red welcome sign, blush pink seating chart, and as a gold laser cut sign that adorned the front of their sweetheart table.
We also incorporated her wedding day "double love" Chinese symbol onto her custom laser cut table number cards. The cards were held in place by small gold stanchions, and were nestled next to the loveliest floral centerpieces. RK Florals really did a great job in bringing in vibrant and beautiful florals to Jocelyn and James' wedding reception!
All of the lanterns and hand cut chinese banners were hung by family friends - what a beautiful and personal touch to their wedding reception decor. These lovely additions paired so well with their other red and gold reception decor elements.
The couple requested something unique at each place setting for guests to enjoy. To incorporate James' Korean heritage, we featured the iconic "kissing ducks" on their wedding menu booklets. We hand painted these Mandarin ducks exclusively for Jocelyn and James' wedding day. We then added in the "double happiness" Chinese symbol between them, to give a nod to Jocelyn's Chinese heritage.
These "kissing ducks" or "wedding ducks" are used in Korean wedding ceremonies, and often given as marriage gifts. They are also commonly featured in couples' homes as decor - and because the couple wanted to give guests something to keep and frame after the wedding, these were a perfect fit!
Inside the booklets, the couple wrote a "thank you" note to guests, as well as listed their evening's dinner menu. These colorful wedding menu booklets were loved by all!
Jocelyn and James are the sweetest couple! We had such a great time working with them, and helping them fuse together their Chinese, Korean, and American ties into their custom wedding invtations, custom wedding day stationery, and wedding signs. Their bountiful use of color and cultural traditions make this wedding day one their guests will never forget!

Wondering what life is like for a busy mom with a graphic design & laser cutting business? My days are filled with pretty paper, blissful brides, half-finished sketchbooks, half-eaten lunches, and lots of cuddling with my little ones.
